Firmly Planted Goals + Achievements: Dual Enrollment — Matt Ernster
Maybe you’ve heard Matthew West's song, Do Something, where he cries, “God, why don’t you do something? He said I did. I created you.”
If something about the American educational system bothers you, it’s not by chance. We have a crucial role and can't afford to be passive observers. Our children's future is at stake, and it's time to step up. Heidi St. John's call to action, “Get off the Bench,” couldn't be timelier. The urgency of the situation is pressing and demands our immediate attention.
Firmly Planted Family is not a bystander in this anti-God movement. We are taking a stand, venturing into uncharted territory, and are thrilled to announce the launch of dual enrollment in the late fall.
The low-hanging fruit is prime for picking. The Lord is leading the charge as we continue hearing the cries of families not wanting to send their children off to the local Clark Colleges and similar. Just as the Lord has listened to the frustration of parents and students wanting a quality Christian education, we at FPF have also turned our ears and hearts to parents and students alike. After much counsel, a lengthy vetting of suitors, and with God’s clear guidance, we have decided Christian Halls International is the most natural for us to partner with in offering dual enrollment classes.
Christian Halls International aligns beautifully with Firmly Planted’s vision, mission, and values. This alignment is not just a coincidence but a testament to the quality and integrity of the Homeschool Resource Center. It gives us the confidence to offer a broad range of subjects–our tutors (teachers) are vetted subject matter competent, and will facilitate college-level content as they shepherd hearts in a way that draws them closer to the Father and gratitude towards this great nation.
This new endeavor offers a diverse range of subjects, from College Algebra to American History, Literature, and Composition, and much more. Our curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive and enriching educational experience, including the opportunity to offer the trades.
Not all is bleak around us. We get to do something! We have tutors chomping at the bit, and students want to enroll. There are brighter days still to come, and we’re not about to back down from fighting for the souls of our children. Psalm 127:1 says it best: “Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” As we embark on this glorious adventure, we are filled with hope and optimism for the future.
