Goals + Accomplishments: Exciting Updates: Growth, Progress, and Looking Ahead — Jay St. John
We have some exciting updates to share as we reflect on the recent growth and ongoing projects that are shaping the future of Firmly Planted Family. Together, God’s leading and this wonderful community are achieving great things and we are thrilled to tell you about some of the key developments.
A Warm Welcome to Our New Families
First and foremost, we want to extend a heartfelt welcome to the many new families who have joined us recently. We are beyond excited to have you as part of our growing community. Your involvement encourages us and we look forward to seeing you thrive as you shepherd your family to follow Jesus.
Record Growth in Student Enrollment
This term, we are proud to announce that we have welcomed over 100 new students into our tutoring classes. The growth of our student body is a testament to God’s movement in our community towards Him. As our classes and programs fill up, we strive to create an environment that builds up families and guides our children to be who God made them to be.
Two Exciting Summer Camp Programs
Summer is just around the corner, and we are thrilled to offer two separate summer camp programs this year! These camps will provide exciting opportunities for our students to engage in hands-on learning, explore new interests, and build lasting friendships. Whether it’s science, arts, sports, or other subjects, our summer camps promise to be a fun and enriching experience. We encourage families to sign up early, as spaces are expected to fill up quickly.
Upcoming Building Expansion
As our organization continues to grow, we are excited to announce a summer building project that will significantly enhance our campus. This project includes adding more classrooms in the warehouse to accommodate our growing student body, as well as constructing new walls in the existing science and arts areas to create more dedicated, specialized spaces for these programs.
Fence and Gate Projects Nearing Completion
We are also pleased to report that our fence and gate projects are nearing completion! The installation of two new automated gates has already been successfully completed, providing enhanced security and easy access to the campus. These improvements are part of our commitment to creating a safe environment for all our students, staff, and families.
Addressing Washington State Property Tax Challenges
While we are excited about all the progress we’ve made, we do face a significant challenge: the Washington state property tax continues to burden our organization. This tax remains a financial strain. Part of what keeps the resource center unique and successful is the freedom we have as a community to determine what we do with our program. Most schools and community centers accept government money or tax exemptions that help them financially–but bring state regulations into their programs. We have committed to operate free from this constraint but it comes at a higher financial cost.
We kindly ask for your contributions to help us meet this ongoing tax burden so we can focus on what matters most—serving our families and growing our programs. Every donation helps, no matter the size, and your generosity will ensure that we can continue to offer the unique resources we have become known for.
Thank You for Your Support
With all of these changes and growth, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support. Your involvement allows us to provide educational opportunities that are making a meaningful impact on the lives of our students and their families. Together, we are building a strong, supportive community that will continue to flourish for years to come.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We are excited about what’s to come and are grateful for your continued involvement in our mission.
