Firmly Planted Goals + Achievements: Building Corner — Jay St. John

God has been so good to us this past year! Our new facility is a fantastic fit for our programs and the Lord is already leading the way for more growth and expansion with future programs. We’ve added new walls and shuffled things around a bit, but overall it has been a quick and smooth transition. I want to give a huge thank you to all who pitched in to help these last 9 months!

This spring and summer, we’re moving forward with several projects that will add value in every area of our programs. These projects will require funding and manpower and we’re excited to see how God brings it all together!

Warehouse: We are still in the process of changing the warehouse into our gym and trades tutorial space. When the city approves our use of that area, we’ll be building walls and purchasing and installing a gym floor.

Gates: Gates must be installed with the city’s approval so this project requires oversight from a licensed professional. Installing posts and assembling parts can be done by volunteers to save on cost. However, the bulk of the work will be done by the contractor.

Playfield: Benny Seppala has plowed the field (Thank you, Benny!). This will cause the sod to break down so we can more easily level the field with a dozer. Benny will be leveling the field in a couple weeks and once that’s complete we’ll be digging ditches to install the sprinkler system. Volunteers to help dig ditches and install the irrigation pipes will be greatly appreciated. Once these things are accomplished, we’ll spread some topsoil, seed the dirt and watch the grass grow. The kids are giddy with excitement to wiggle, run, and play in our gated playfield as soon as the grass is established!

South Entrance: Our hope is to begin remodeling the south entrance over the summer break. The current Headwaters Bookstore will turn into our coffee shop, The Raft, and after knocking out a couple walls we’ll transform an area of our warehouse into the new and improved trendy bookstore! This will create a larger and more open area with lots of room to hang out and enjoy our community. There will be loads of opportunities to help demo and rebuild once the city approves the design.

Each of these projects will require prayer, hard work, flexibility, and funding. Pray with us for God’s leading, favor and support! If you’re local and interested in offering your time and talent for the upcoming projects, send us an email at info@fpfam.org.

You can also give of your treasure and be a part of funding these projects by donating right here.

Together God is using each of us to build healthy families by bringing back real education and cultivating a thriving and vibrant community!
